We operate our Hermanus whale watching day tour from August to November. During the spring months the Southern Right Whale migrates from the Antarctic regions to the warm waters around the Cape Coast to calve in the shelter of Walker Bay in Hermanus. The official whale crier blow's his kelp as he walks along main street, bearing a signboard that shows the best daily sighting places, the mammals can be seen as close as 10m from the shore. Our Tour takes us from Cape Town via Gordon's Bay along the rugged scenic coastal route which offers spectacular views of the Cape Peninsula across False Bay. On the way we will stop at the beautiful wine estates of Hamilton Russel and drive up Rotary drive before arriving to Hermanus. Late afternoon our route back to Cape Town will take us through the apple orchards and forests of Elgin via Sir Lowry's Pass with the familiar sight of Table Mountain leading the way. Cape Escape Tours offer daily Tours to Hermanus. This picturesque day tour takes you over the mountains to Hermanus some of the greatest land based opportunities for whale watching in the world (August – November).
